Calvin Ramsay’s dream move to Liverpool has left Aberdeen fans with mixed emotions.
The Dons defender will undergo a medical before completing a record-breaking move to Anfield from Pittodrie.
The English club will pay £4.5million upfront with a further £3.5m in add-ons due should the 18 year-old progress to the Reds’ first team and hit certain appearance milestones.
With a 20% sell-on clause also negotiated, the move is one which was too good to turn down for the Dons – and the chance of a lifetime for Aberdeen’s talented right back.
Fans wished him well for his imminent move on social media, but are sad to see him go.
Good luck Calvin dream move for you hope you go down there and develop into the player we know you can be.

Mixed emotions about Calvin Ramsay leaving…its great for the club & demonstrates the quality of our academy. It also sends a message, if you want our young talent they dont come cheap…pleased for him but we lose a level of player we rarely have the privilege of watching

Fans were quick to offer their opinion on whether the deal was a fair price or not, but it was clear the biggest issue for supporters was whether the money would be reinvested in the team.
On Facebook, Neil Henderson wrote: “Seriously how much do people expect we are going to get for our players? The boy clearly has potential but I’d be amazed if he can break into that Liverpool team.
“Take the money and re-invest it in the squad and concentrate on finishing higher than 10th next season.”
Euan Archibald added: “Hopefully a good chunk of that will be put in the transfer funds but I doubt it.”
Good luck to the loon and a nice bit of business for the finances. Hopefully it will be reinvested in the squad 🤞🏻
