Derek McInnes has challenged the Dons to maintain their red-hot winning run and remain top of the Premiership.
League leaders Aberdeen sit one point clear of defending champions Celtic.
The Reds are gunning for a seventh straight victory at Motherwell this afternoon which would move them four clear of the Hoops, who face Kilmarnock on Monday.
While refusing to acknowledge a title tilt, McInnes insisted there will be no let-up from his side
“We do not kick back, feel good about ourselves and think we are happy with that because we are top.
“We have to try to keep winning games.
“The challenge is to stay top because the next challenge is always to win the upcoming game – regardless of where you are in the table.
“Going top does not change anything.”
After securing eight wins from the last nine Premiership games, Aberdeen head the table at the turn of the year for the first time since 1991.
They are the first non-Old Firm team to lead the top flight in January since Hearts in 1992.
The Red Army may be dreaming of challenging for a first championship since 1985, but McInnes continues to downplay a potential title push.
“The players should feel great about themselves in terms of what they are giving the club at the moment,” he said.
“However, it can easily be derailed and all it takes is one or two in the dressing room to get above themselves.
“We are constantly making sure the right message is getting through to them
“The players and management recognise the slap in the face is always round the corner.
“So we have to try to do all we can to try to not let that happen.
“That will take continual hard work, continual focus, discipline and professionalism.”
Aberdeen face a Motherwell side reeling after a 5-0 thrashing on New Year’s day by Hamilton.
However, McInnes will not underestimate the Steelmen’s threat.
He said: “Motherwell will be a tough game.
“They have changed manager to try to get some impetus and pick up results again.
“With the squad Motherwell have and the way they performed last season it is only a matter of time for that to happen.
“However, we can go down there with real confidence.”
