Aberdeen defender Donervorn Daniels was frustrated he was unable to help the Dons to a cup final on his debut.
It was still a day to remember for the 21-year-old who opened the scoring for the Dons before Dundee United went on to win the match 2-1 with goals from Callum Morris and Nadir Ciftci.
Daniels had only signed on loan from English Premier League club West Brom on Tuesday and admitted it had been a whirlwind week.
He said: “It was definitely the biggest game of my career so far.
“It was a cup semi-final for Aberdeen playing against another good club and I enjoyed it.
“I knew it was going to be a tough challenge but I was looking forward to the experience.
“From driving all the way up to Scotland earlier this week to being involved in a cup semi-final for a big club, it has been a fantastic few days and I have enjoyed it all.
“It’s bittersweet but I’m now just looking forward to each game, keep learning and keep experiencing the big occasions.
“The supporters have given me a great welcome and the players helped a lot.
“That gave me the encouragement to go out there and enjoy the day.
“I didn’t know much about Scottish football but I am a quick learner. I like to experience big occasions and be thrown in at the deep end.”
Now the Montserrat-born defender has turned his attentions to helping the Dons push Ronny Deila’s Celtic all the way in the Scottish Premiership.
The Dons can keep the pressure on leaders Celtic if they beat bottom of the league Ross County this weekend.
And Daniels added: “It was a tight game against Dundee United and I thought both teams played really well. It was a frustrating day for the players and the supporters, but now our next game is the most important one.
“Of course everyone was downhearted at the moment and a bit upset with the result, but we know we have got the capability to go and win games and push Celtic all the way.
“That’s what we’re going to try to do.
“The manager is a fantastic man and he did a lot to bring me to the club so I just want to repay him with some good performances.”
