Aberdeen have reportedly targeted a potential move for Tranmere Rovers right-back Josh Dacres-Cogley.
The 26-year-old defender was a transfer target for the Dons during the summer window.
However, the clubs were unable to agree a fee for the right-back.
It is understood League Two Tranmere had placed a £400,000 price tag during the summer on Dacres-Cogley.
Aberdeen then swooped to sign Jayden Richardson in a £300,000 transfer from Premier League-bound Nottingham Forest.
Aberdeen have reportedly continued to monitor Dacres-Cogley and are considering launching a move to land the defender.
Why Aberdeen could nab Dacres-Cogley
Dacres-Cogley is out of contract at Tranmere at the end of the season.
Aberdeen could land the right-back on a pre-contract or a free transfer at the end of the season.
The Dons could open transfer talks when the winter window opens in January.
Dacres-Cogley joined Tranmere in summer 2021 having been released by Championship Birmingham City.
He has started 20 games for Tranmere this season.
A key part of the Tranmere side, Dacres-Cogley has made 68 appearances for the club, every one a start.
There are reportedly clubs in England interested in Dacres-Cogley.
Tranmere manager Micky Mellon is keen to extend the right-back’s contract.
