Former Aberdeen defender Calvin Ramsay’s debut for Liverpool was the talk of the Dons’ dressing room, according to boss Jim Goodwin.
Teenager Ramsay this week made his long-awaited debut in a 2-0 Champions League win against Serie A leaders Napoli at Anfield.
The 19-year-old said it was a dream come true to play in the Champions League for the six-time European champions.
Goodwin revealed Cormack Park was buzzing with talk of the Aberdonian’s appearance for Liverpool.
He says everyone within the club are “very proud” of the teen who made a multi-million-pound transfer to Liverpool this summer.
Goodwin watched Ramsay make his debut live on television and hailed his Liverpool bow as “outstanding”.
And he will message the teen to fix him up with tickets for Anfield so he can see him star in the flesh for one of the world’s biggest clubs.
Goodwin said: “Calvin’s debut was the talk of the dressing room and Cormack Park the next day.
“There are a number of people here who have known Calvin for a long, long time and are very proud of the strides he has made.
“We are all extremely pleased for Calvin that he was able to make his long-awaited debut for Liverpool in such a memorable occasion.
“Napoli are a team that are flying in Series A and in the Champions League.
“For Calvin to come on and make an impact and help Liverpool win the game was outstanding.”
A moment to remember ❤️

Ramsay’s family at Anfield for debut
The teenager’s family had travelled down from the Granite City to watch his debut.
Scotland U21 international Ramsay moved to Liverpool in a club-record transfer from the Dons this summer.
It is a transfer that could be worth up to £8 million to Aberdeen.
The Dons received an initial £4.5 million and could pocket a further £3.5 million with additional add-ons.
Ramsay replaced England international Trent Alexander-Arnold in a win that secured Liverpool’s progression to the knock-out stages.
Napoli had won all five of their group games prior to the Anfield clash.
Right-back Ramsay has recently recovered from an injury and scored for the U21s on Saturday in the 3-0 Premier League 2 win at West Ham United.
Goodwin said: “Calvin has had to be patient.
“He has had to prove to Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool manager) that he belongs at that level.
“I think he has had one or two setbacks with injuries which is only natural for a kid of his age.
“I know I speak on behalf of everybody when I say we are absolutely delighted for Calvin.”
Boss hopes to see Ramsay at Anfield
Aberdeen-born and raised Ramsay has gone from the Dons youth squad to the Champions League in under two years.
Former Hazlehead Academy pupil, Ramsay only made his first-team Dons debut in March last year when coming on as a substitute in a 1-0 loss to Dundee United.
The following month he made his first start, in a 1-0 Scottish Cup win at lower league Dumbarton.
Ramsay would go on to rack up the most assists of any teenage defender in world football during the 2021-22 season.
That form put Ramsay was on the transfer radar of host of clubs across Europe.
English Premier League outfits and clubs in the Spanish and German top flight targeted the teen but Liverpool won the race to sign him.
He can expect a text from his former Dons gaffer who is desperate to see him light up Anfield.
Goodwin said: “I was watching the Liverpool–Napoli game with my son.
“Calvin can expect a WhatsApp from me at some point in the break as well.
“As I’ll be looking for tickets in the new year to come down to watch him live.”
