Aberdeen boss Jim Goodwin has vowed to keep entertaining supporters at Pittodrie after another home goal fest.

And Goodwin hopes more fans will be lured by the run of home wins and goals to pack out the stadium.

The Reds jumped to third in the Premiership with an emphatic 4-1 home defeat of Hibs.

Hibs had arrived at Pittodrie in possession of third spot, but were blown away by Goodwin’s Reds in the second half.

The deadly Dons have netted 21 goals in their six league matches, five wins, at fortress Pittodrie.

In nine games in all competitions at home the Reds have won eight and scored 30 goals.

Goodwin aims to keep the good times coming at Pittodrie and hopes that boosts Red Army numbers.

Aberdeen’s Bojan Miovski celebrates after making it 2-0 against Hibs.

He said: “We got back to third place in the league and beat one of our nearest rivals quite convincingly.

“For us to beat Hibs and Hearts (2-0) at home as convincingly as we have is brilliant.

“I don’t think there is a team in the country at the moment who has scored more goals at home than we have.

“That is brilliant as it puts bums on seats.

“We want to get as many people from Aberdeen as we can through the door.

“If we can continue to entertain them in the fashion we did against Hibs then hopefully we will sell more season tickets.

“And get more people into the stadium.”

Goodwin praises Aberdeen’s ability to bounce back from adversity

Boss Jim Goodwin watched the win from the stands as he served the second of a five game ban, two suspended until the end of the season.

Goodwin was initially hit with an eight game ban, two suspended, for accusing Hibs defender Ryan Porteous of “blatant cheating” following a 3-1 loss in September.

The ban was reduced by three games on appeal at a tribunal on Monday.

Aberdeen bounced back from last weekend’s 4-1 hammering by Rangers at Ibrox.

Goodwin praised his squad for putting quickly putting that sobering loss behind them.

Aberdeen manager Jim Goodwin in the stands for the 4-1 defeat of Hibs.

He said: “It is testament to the group.

“As manager I cannot take a whole lot of credit for that.

“We were turned over 3-2 by Motherwell earlier in the season and we were terrible.

“We bounced back and went four games unbeaten.

“Then we really poor at Tannadice (4-0 loss) but bounced back with three straight wins.

“We were really poor in the second half against Ibrox at the weekend.

“Lucky to get out of there with a 4-1 defeat to be honest.

“Then we bounced back with a really convincing 4-1 victory.”

Goodwin’s sweat over VAR decision

Aberdeen went ahead in first half injury time through a Bojan Miovski penalty following a VAR decision on a foul by keeper David Marshall on Duk.

Miovski’s spot kick was saved by Marshall.

But after another VAR decision the keeper was adjudged to have move off his line before Miovski took the penalty.

It was retaken and Miovski scored.

Miovski also netted with a header after the break to take his tally to 11 goals for the season.

Goodwin said: “VAR’s been in place all over the world for years and the main aim is to get the big calls right more often than not.

“My concern about the first one was that I thought Duk was offside.

“I did feel he got there first and that Marshall went to ground and there must have been contact.

“Thankfully it went for us, there’ll be occasions when it’ll go against us.

“I know it’ll be the talking point.”

An audacious back heel by Clarkson

The Reds also netted through Ylber Ramadani as the summer signing scored his first goal for the club.

On loan Liverpool midfielder Leighton Clarkson also scored with an audacious back heel.

Goodwin said: “I felt the game was always going to be tight and the first half stats suggest that.

“I’m not going to sit here and gloat and suggest we gave Hibs a going over – we didn’t.

“The score of 4-1 probably flatters us a little. I always knew the first goal in the game was going to be huge.”
