Andrew Considine will celebrate his testimonial with Aberdeen tonight, but former Dons manager Craig Brown would not be surprised if the defender plays for another 10 years.
Dutch side FC Twente will provide the opposition for the 27-year-old, who has made almost 300 appearances for the Dons since making his debut against Dundee in 2004.
Considine’s former manager Brown believes the defender still has plenty of years ahead of him on the pitch.
He said: “I would predict Andy will have another testimonial as he keeps himself in such great shape.
“I had one full season as manager of Aberdeen and Andrew played almost every match and won the club’s player of the year award from his fellow players and the supporters.
“He is similar to Russell Anderson in his attitude and approach to the game.
“We used to ask the younger players to go into the gym in the morning and watch Andy doing his upper body work. He was an example for them all.
“Andy has an exemplary attitude towards his football and he gives you everything he’s got.”
Brown believes the manner in which Considine has recovered from a broken leg sustained against Dundee two years ago to establish himself as a first team regular is indicative of the player’s character.
He said: “The work Andy did to come back from that broken leg against Dundee shows it.
“Some don’t come back from that, but such was his determination and positive attitude, he has come back even stronger.”
