Several of Aberdeen goalkeeper Jamie Langfield’s former team-mates will return to Pittodrie tomorrow to help the veteran celebrate his testimonial match against Brighton.
Members of the Dons squad which helped the club qualify for the Europa League by beating Dnipor on the away goals rule in the 2007-08 season will take part in a half-time match.
Scott Severin, Lee Mair, Lee Miller, Steve Lovell, Chris Clark, Michael Hart and Russell Anderson will all feature at the interval.
For Langfield, the chance to celebrate his decade of service with the club will be special but he is equally keen to get some time on the pitch after playing no part in pre-season or in the Europa League qualifiers so far.
He said: “I think I’ll be emotional on Sunday.
“It’ll be great for me to get a game and I’m hoping the gaffer picks me. But the most important thing for me is game time and I’m looking forward to some of that.”
Dons supporters will also get the chance to see Jeffrey Monakana again as he appears for Brighton. The attacking midfielder spent six months on loan at Pittodrie last season.
Scotland international defender Gordon Greer and former Celtic midfielder Beram Kayal are also in the Brighton squad travelling north.
