The John Lewis Christmas advert has become as much a part of Yuletide as mulled wine, Santa clause and mince meat pies.
This year’s advert, which the department store partnered up with Age UK to make, shows a young girl looking through a telescope to the moon and watching a lonely old man who lives there missing out on all the festivities.
She sends him a telescope for Christmas so he can look back down at the world and share in the warmth and joy of the season.
Hundreds of parody versions have been spliced and edited on the internet ever since…but this one is the best.
Looking back down at earth what does the man get to see?
John Hewitt’s iconic winning goal against Real Madrid in the European Cup Winners Cup Final in Gothenberg 1983.
An all time classic
