Rotherham United goalie Adam Collin is in the north-east having a medical ahead of a possible switch to Aberdeen FC.
The Millers keeper is expected to be unveiled to the media as a Don later this afternoon.
Rumours suggest that the 31-year-old will move to Pittodrie on-loan until the end of the season.
The search for a stopper has been on for McIness’ side ever since Liverpool recalled Welsh youngster Danny Ward back to Anfield.
Collin is looking forward to his move far north of the borderafter not getting much game time at the Championship side this season aince Lee Camp arrived from Bournemouth during the summer transfer window.
Earlier this week the Dons failed in a bid to sign Rangers third choice goalkeeper Cammy Bell on loan until the end of the season.
