Aberdeen defender Graeme Shinnie has is confident team-mate Ash Taylor will quickly rally from his poor display against Caley Thistle.
The former Wales under-21 international was involved in all three of the Inverness goals during Monday night’s 3-1 defeat at the Caledonian Stadium.
After Adam Rooney opened the scoring for the Dons, Taylor gifted Iain Vigurs an equaliser after slipping in possession on the edge of his own penalty area.
The defender was harshly penalised for a foul on Ross Draper to allow Greg Tansey to convert from the penalty spot to give Inverness the lead before flicking on a Jordan Roberts cross to inadvertently set up Carl Tremarco for the third goal – his first for the Highlanders.
Shinnie, who captained the Dons in the absence of the injured Ryan Jack, does not believe Taylor will dwell on a frustrating performance.
He said: “Ash is a confident lad and he will just get on with it.
“He knew he made a couple of mistakes, but he is a strong character and he will get over those easily.
“The games are coming thick and fast so we just need to put this one behind us now.
“All we can do is focus on the games coming up and look to get another victory against Partick Thistle on Friday.”
The Dons trail leaders Celtic by three points despite having played one game more and Shinnie accepts his side must win at Partick to put the pressure back on the Hoops ahead of their home match against Caley Thistle on Saturday.
He said: “In football, I think every game is a must-win. Given where we want to go, we want to win every game.
“We want to go down to Partick on Friday, put on a good performance and win the game.”
Shinnie hopes his former side can do the Dons a favour by beating Ronny Deila’s Celtic on Saturday.
The Caley Jags have lost only once in 11 matches in all competitions and Shinnie, who captained the Highlanders to Scottish Cup success last season, reckons Celtic will have their work cut out against John Hughes’ men.
He added: “I know the way Inverness like to play. It will be a tough game for Celtic, but we just have to focus on Friday now.”
