Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes believes key duo Graeme Shinnie and Kenny McLean are deserving of a Scotland call-up.
Scotland manager Gordon Strachan will announce on Thursday two squads for the forthcoming international friendlies against the Czech Republic and Denmark and McInnes believes defender Shinnie and midfielder McLean’s displays for club are worthy of reward by their country.
He said: “I see others getting quoted and pushed forward and I think there’s a strong case for Kenny McLean and Graeme Shinnie to be involved.
“I’m sure Gordon will be well aware of who has been doing well for me.
“We have had Mark Reynolds, Peter Pawlett and Ryan Jack involved over the last few seasons. But Graeme and Kenny have been very good and very consistent this season and there’s no doubt they have showed a lot of improvement in an Aberdeen shirt.”
