Aberdeen have been linked with a move for former Kilmarnock striker Conor Sammon.
The 29-year-old’s has had a difficult time at Derby County and he is not thought to have a future at the club.
Sammon hit 18 goals for Kilmarnock during the 2010/11 season, which saw him land a £600,000 move to Wigan before he joined Derby County for £1.2million 18 months later.
Dons boss Derek McInnes is understood to be looking for more options upfront, despite already securing the pre-contact signing of Caley Thistle’s on-loan goal star Miles Storey.
The club announced earlier this week that David Goodwillie, who had been on loan at Championship side Falkirk, had been released from the club, making room for new striking options.
Sammon has not appeared for Derby for the past two seasons but has spent time on loan with Ipswich Town, Rotherham and Sheffield United.
He has appeared for the Republic of Ireland national team nine times.
