Aberdeen forward Adam Rooney hopes to become a Pittodrie legend by netting 100 goals for the Dons.
The 28-year-old last week signed a four-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2020.
The Irishman has been prolific since joining the Dons from Oldham Athletic in January 2014, scoring 60 goals in 108 appearances for the Reds.
Only eight players have hit a century for the Dons and Rooney would love to inch closer to the three-figure mark by scoring against Hearts at Pittodrie today.
He said: “I’ve signed up for another four seasons, so if I keep going the way I have been going there’s there’s no reason I can’t get over 100 goals.
“That’s the target.
“The main thing is to keep scoring and enjoying my football but it would be pretty special to get to that kind of total.
“I’m not really a man to set targets or aim to set records. But there’s no doubt that would be brilliant.
“The way this team plays we create a lot of chances, so there would be every opportunity for me to get well over the 100 mark by the end of my contract.”
However, Rooney’s principal aim for the next four years is to bring more silverware to the club.
The Irishman netted the winning penalty when the Dons lifted the League Cup with a shootout victory against Caley Thistle two years ago.
They progressed to the quarter-finals of the Betfred Cup with a 2-1 victory against Ayr United on Wednesday and Rooney would love to set up another Hampden semi-final by beating St Johnstone in the last eight of the competition next month.
He added: “Hitting 100 goals would be nice but the main thing is winning as many trophies as possible.
“We’ve managed to get one in recent years but we want to get more.
“The aim is to keep improving in the league and in Europe.
“Last year we finished slightly behind in terms of our points total but we narrowed the gap on Celtic so we want to kick on and improve again this year.
“The cups are a big thing for us. We were disappointed to go out in the first rounds last year but we are already a stage further this season.
“You want to go all the way and win these competitions. You could see the day we had the other year and the celebrations in front of 80,000 people on Union Street.
“That’s something we want again.
“I’m sure we have a squad that’s capable of winning things. It was disappointing to go out of Europe at the third round stage again but it’s all about getting over it and doing well in Scotland again.”
The Dons lost their three previous meetings against Hearts and Rooney anticipates another stern test this afternoon.
He added: “The Hearts games are always really competitive. They are a very strong, physical side – but we are more physical than last year as well.
“It will be a similar game this time but we need to do the same as last year here and grind out a win.”
