Campaigners aiming to have Elgin City’s stripped 1992/93 Highland League title restored have made a documentary on the controversy.
Now an SPFL League Two side, City finished top in what was the club and division’s centenary season, however, their medals were taken back by the league committee.
Elgin were served with the punishment after being accused of bringing their final match, against Forres Mechanics, forward so two players – who would have been suspended otherwise – could play.
Organisers of the campaign to see City’s title win recognised once more have previously told the Press and Journal their punishment was “excessive”, with members of the 92/93 squad getting together last year to back the drive.
A petition for the cause has been signed close to 900 times and the new video, made up of clips from the season, interviews with former Elgin players and Highland League figures from the time, tells the story of the season and the chain of events which led to the title being removed from the Borough Briggs outfit.
The Highland League have previously said the decision won’t be reviewed unless new evidence comes to light.
