Highland League fans saw plenty of goals today in the 10 games across the Scottish Cup and Press and Journal Highland League featuring Highland League teams.
The 10 games averaged over four goals a game, with the highest scoring encounter Wick Academy’s 9-2 victory over Strathspey Thistle.
Although fans witnessed plenty of goals, it was a disappointing day in the Scottish Cup with Formartine, Cove and Turriff all crashing out against SPFL opposition while Inverurie were knocked out by Ayrshire junior outfit Hurlford United. Forres secured a draw in their derby with Elgin and that tie will now go to a replay.
Brora’s stunning start to the season continued with a 5-0 win over Banks o’ Dee while Nairn came out on top in the only all Highland League Scottish Cup clash.
