Elgin City manager Gavin Price is determined to make Borough Briggs the foundation of the Black and Whites’ promotion push.
City host Stenhousemuir in League Two on Saturday, in their first home outing since a 4-0 reverse to Dumbarton on November 12.
It marks a return to league action for Elgin, who defeated Hill of Beath Hawthorn last weekend to set up a Scottish Cup fourth round tie at home to Drumchapel United in January.
A 3-1 victory over Annan Athletic lifted Elgin to third place, although this weekend’s opponents are only two points behind them in fifth.
Although Elgin have won eight of their last 11 fixtures in all competitions, Price says his side must continue striving for improvement.
Price said: “We need to find our form at home.
“It’s important we shake off the last home performance, which obviously wasn’t great.
“That home form is going to be vital to us if we are to be able to maintain our position in the top four.
“We have been on a decent run of form but we need to maintain that.
“You can’t relax for a minute in this league, because if you do that you get found out.
“It’s just about focusing on the next game every time and making sure we do our best to make sure we get what we can out of it.
“We are in a reasonably good place, the form has been fairly consistent but I think we still need to improve to make sure we keep the points ticking over.”
Stenny pose big threat to Moray side
Elgin have already faced Stenny twice this season, defeating the Warriors 3-1 in an SPFL Trust Trophy tie in August.
Stenny struck a controversial late goal to secure a 3-3 draw when the sides met at Ochilview the following month.
Price is wary of the threats posed by this weekend’s opponents, adding: “I think on paper Stenhousemuir have one of the best squads in the league.
“By no means are we taking the game lightly as they are a good side with good players. We will have to be at our best to get some points.”
The game will come too soon for Elgin skipper Matthew Cooper who has been sidelined since October.
Cooper has stepped up his recovery after returning to running however, with Price hopeful the defender can take part in full training next week.
Goalkeeper Daniel Hoban also remains injured, while there are doubts over the fitness of Rory MacEwan and Darryl McHardy.
