A man has won more than £20,000 after placing a bet on Aberdeen’s Scottish Cup semi-final clash against Hibs.
Lewis Elliot, 19, backed Aberdeen and Hibs to score in both halves, along with similar outcomes as Crawley took on Carlisle and Chelsea won out against Tottenham.
The first two legs of his bet came in as Aberdeen reached the Scottish Cup final with a 3-2 win over Hibs.
Later, Crawley and Carlisle shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw in League Two.
Mr Elliot knew he had won the sum after Eden Hazard scored for Chelsea in their FA Cup semi-final match with Tottenham.
Incredibly, at odds of 6858/1, the Hawick teenager’s bet won him a cool £2o,577.
“I am absolutely delighted,”he said . “I went crazy when Hazard scored.”
