Football fans in Dyce were delighted last night when they managed to grab a photo with members of the Dutch football team ahead of tonight’s friendly with Scotland at Pittodrie.
The players were spotted at one of the hotels in the village and were more than happy to accommodate some of the locals who asked for a memento photograph.
Netherlands player and Liverpool mid-fielder Gini Wijnaldum stopped to pose with the football-loving youngsters outside the Marriott Hotel last night, much to the delight of fan Mike Cowling who snapped the shot.
Mr Cowling, who’s two sons Owen and Robbie are pictured, said: “He was on his phone when he came off the bus but fair play to him , he interrupted his call to pose for the pictures – all the boys are chuffed to bits.
“The fans love him, he’s still young so hopefully he will grow into a star with Liverpool.”
The Dutch Eleven or ‘Oranje’ as they are locally known will play Scotland’s team tonight, where the action kicks-off at 7.45pm at Pittodrie stadium.
