Floods of tributes and well-wishes have been sent out to Alex Ferguson after he underwent emergency surgery yesterday.
Following news that the former Aberdeen and Manchester United manager was rushed to hospital his well-being was called out for by players, teams and even politicians.

Sir Alex Ferguson has undergone surgery today for a brain haemorrhage. The procedure has gone very well but he needs a period of intensive care to aid his recovery. His family request privacy in this matter.

The 76-year-old was taken to Macclesfield hospital in order to receive surgery for a brain haemorrhage.
Manchester United said in a statement: “Sir Alex Ferguson has undergone emergency surgery today for a brain haemorrhage.
“The procedure has gone very well but he needs a period of intensive care to optimise his recovery. His family request privacy in this matter.”
Ferguson as Dons boss between 1978 and 1986, winning the European Cup Winners’ Cup in Gothenburg with his side in May 1983.
He left Pittodrie for Manchester United, where he went on to become the most successful manager in the history of the English Premier League, winning the title 13 times, as well as the UEFA Champions League in 1999 and 2008.
