Manchester United may not have been playing today but they have made plenty of headlines thanks to a number of moves in the transfer market.
United have impressed over recent weeks as Luis Van Gaal has started to get the best out of Michael Carrick, Ashley Young and Marouane Fellaini, however, in order to challenge for the title next season it appears the United boss has accepted he needs to further strengthen his squad.

Ilkay Gundogan
German outlet Der Westen are reporting that Manchester United have now finalised a move for German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan after agreeing a fee with Borussia Dortmund.
Gundogan is out of contract at the end of the 2015/16 season and it is believed the clubs have now agreed a fee of around £21.5million.
Manchester City and Arsenal have also been linked with the 24-year-old but United are expected to agree a contract with the player next week.
Benedikt Howedes
While we’re on the subject of German internationals and Manchester United… The Old Trafford club are reportedly lining up a move for Schalke defender Benedikt Howedes.
German newspaper Bild are reporting Luis Van Gaal is plotting a £12.5million bid for the 32 times capped defender.
Schalke boss Roberto di Matteo wants to keep the centre-back but Howedes is believed to want a move to England.
Hugo Lloris
More Manchester United news from the continent… Reports in France suggest that should David De Gea leave Old Trafford, United would be looking to replace him with Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
French newspaper L’Equipe report that United are looking to make a summer move for the French international who is keen to play in the Champions League.
Memphis Depay
PSV attacker Memphis Depay, believed to be a target for both Liverpool and Manchester United, held secret talks with Liverpool this week, according to the Daily Mirror.
Depay’s club PSV reportedly gave the Anfield club permission to speak to the player and he is believed to have met with Liverpool Chief Executive Ian Ayre about a potential £20million transfer.
Ryan Christie
According to the Sun, Aston Villa, Everton, Newcastle United and Swansea City are all chasing the signature of Inverness Caley Thistle midfielder Ryan Christie.
Caley Jags would be looking for around £1million for the 20-year-old.

Juanan Entrena
Reports in Spain suggest Celtic are ready to make a move for Spanish youngster Juanan Entrena.
