On the pitch we have the final few league encounters of the season, we have Champions League semi-finals and play-off semi finals but we all know the real action is now happening in the transfer market.
Two of the Premier League’s hottest strikers, Charlie Austin and Christian Benteke both look like they could be involved in long running transfer sagas this summer.
With relegation and financial fair play sanctions on the horizon for Queens Park Rangers, it looks impossible for them to hold onto prize asset Austin, Villa don’t quite have the same concerns financially, however, with a number of top clubs sniffing around Benteke, they will struggle to resist the cash on offer for their in-form Belgian.
Oh and outwith strikers kicking around the bottom of the English Premier League, Manchester United are reportedly close to signing Dani Alves and two of Real Madrid’s biggest names could be on their way out the door, according to a chap in the know…
Charlie Austin
Southampton are leading the chase to sign QPR striker Charlie Austin and will launch a £10m bid to tempt him to the south coast this summer, according to the Daily Express.Christian Benteke
The Mirror report that Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Roma are all considering £30million bids bids for Christian Benteke but the Aston Villa striker will wait until after Belgium’s end-of-season internationals to decide where his future lies.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Iker Casillas
Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Agustin Rodriguez believes two of the club’s most iconic players will leave this summer.
The 51-year-old, who made almost 100 appearances for the Spanish giants told Radio Marca: “I think Iker Casillas is going to go, genuinely. And Cristiano, too. I’m certain on that”
Yaya Toure
Inter Milan have confirmed they will try to sign Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure this summer.
Inter president Erick Thohir told Italian daily Il Tempo: “How many chances there are to sign him? I can’t say, but what is clear is that we will try in each way to bring him to Inter.”
Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport are also reporting that Toure would be willing to take a pay cut to sign a four-year deal at the Italian side.
Dani Alves
Manchester United are on the verge of confirming the signing of Barcelona right back Dani Alves, according to Catalan newspaper Sport.
Reports in the paper today suggest United have offered the right back a ‘far superior’ deal than what is on offer from Barcelona.
The 32-year-old’s current Barcelona contract expires this summer.
