With the Scottish football season coming to an end, the Scottish transfer season is springing into life.
As expected, Celtic feature rather prominently in the transfer rumour stakes this morning, after all they do have more dosh than the rest of the SPFL combined to spend on transfer fees.
However, Aberdeen have also been linked with a move for a Manchester City youngster and one member of Rangers’ Premiership chasing squad has been linked with a move abroad.
Angus Gunn
Aberdeen are said to be chasing the signature of Manchester City goalkeeper Angus Gunn on a season long loan deal.
Not only has 19-year-old Gunn had the benefit of Manchester City coaching, he also comes with good genetics – his father, Bryan, played in goals for the Dons, has six Scotland caps and is also considered one of Norwich City’s greatest players.
Ikechi Anya
According to the Daily Mirror, Celtic are looking to sign Scotland winger Ikechi Anya.
Anya, 27, has been a revelation for the national team since Gordon Strachan took charge, while he has also helped Watford to promotion to the English Premier League but today’s report suggests Ronny Deila believes he can secure a £4million deal for the Glasgow born winger who has just a year left on his contract at Vicarage Road.
Alirerza Jahanbakhsh
Anya is not the only winger the Hoops have been linked with today – the Daily Express report Deila is looking to sign Iranian winger Alirerza Jahanbakhsh.
The 21-year-old NEC Nijmagen man was linked with Manchester United last season and would cost the Parkhead club £1.5m after netting 12 goals to help his club back to the Dutch top flight.
Jonathas
Another attacker Celtic are chasing, Brazilian forward Jonathas, has reportedly moved a step closer to Parkhead by confirming he is leaving Italian club Pescara following his loan spell with Elche.
Sevilla are rumoured to be competing with the Scottish champions for the 26-year-old’s signature.
Dedryck Boyata
Talking of deals moving a little closer to fruition, the Sun report that Dedryck Boyata has agreed a pay-off with Manchester City – opening the door for a move to Parkhead.
Ronny Deila has previously admitted interest in the 24-year-old City defender and it is believed he is looking to sign him this summer to replace Jason Denayer who will be returning to City following his successful loan spell.
Richard Foster
Former Aberdeen full back Richard Foster, is a target for MLS outfit Philadelphia Union, according to the Daily Express.
The Rangers defender is the second Ibrox man to be linked with Philadelphia Union, with reports suggesting striker Jon Daly could also be on his way to Jim Curtin’s side.
