Welcome to the Fantasy Football gameweek two. Firstly we need to start with an early kick-off alert! Aston Villa will be hosting Man Utd on Friday evening at 8pm, therefore teams need to be submitted before 7:30pm on Friday.
Now that’s out of the way, how did Gameweek 1 treat you? It was a strange one with a lot of the big hitters not scoring coupled with top keepers either getting sent off, sitting in the stands or just putting in a horrific 90 minutes, see Mr Cech.
Personally I won a £72 pot on www.premierpunt.com with the team I tipped last week! Even though my tip that Bournemouth would have a clan sheet failed (just), and Leighton Baines never played due to an injury. Nevertheless, I triumphed with just 38 points.
Defence
This week I am tipping Swansea to keep a clean sheet at home against Newcastle after an excellent performance at Chelsea last week. On that basis I am going with Fabianski in goal, great value at £7.5m. Staying with the Swans two of my back four are Naughton and Williams, both priced at £7.5m (Williams is always a threat at set pieces). Completing my defence are Southampton pair Fonte (£7.7m) and Yoshida (7m), I fancy the Saints at home to Everton.
Midfield
My four midfielders, in a 4-4-2 formation, Toure and Silva from Man City with Kouyate (West Ham) and Ashley Young (Man Utd.). Toure cleared me 13 points last week and Silva is just quality. Kouyate got eight points last week and is fantastic value of just £8.6m to face Leicester this weekend. Young did ok for me last week but I’m betting he’ll be up for the challenge of going back to Villa on Friday night to silence his former fans.
Strikers
In attack I’m sticking with Memphis, from Man Utd., his price has gone up but only to £7.7 Million, around half the price of Rooney. All that leaves me with is just £7.8m out of my £100m budget, but that is ok because that’s exactly how much Troy Deeney of Watford costs this week on Premier Punt, I fancy him to score against West Brom at Vicarage Road.
Captains
Captains this week will be Silva (captain) and Toure (vice-captain). It’s not often I will not pick my forward players in these rolls but I fancy them to have a good Super Sunday (yes Sky Sports decide how my Sundays are described these days) against Chelsea.
Why don’t you challenge me by joining my £1 Press & Journal game on www.premierpunt.com this weekend! Premier Punt offers punters, like you, a chance to play against other punters in a head-to-head or mini-league. This weekend they have free to enter challenge for a £50 prize pot and a guaranteed £350 pot for only £2… good luck.
