Celtic are closing in on the signing of Manchester United defender Tyler Blackett on a one year loan deal.
Blackett can play at centre half or left back and Celtic boss Ronny Deila is looking to confirm a one year loan deal this weekend with the option of signing the defender on a permanent deal for £4million at the end of the season.
The 21-year-old broke into the United first team last season, making 11 appearances in the first half of the campaign, however, he has slipped down the pecking order in recent months and manager Louis Van Gaal is now happy for the defender to leave the club on loan.
Blackett is expected to arrive in Glasgow tomorrow morning and take in Celtic v St Johnstone at Parkhead.
West Brom have also reportedly shown an interest in Blackett but Celtic are currently in pole position to complete a deal.
Celtic have already signed two young defenders from Manchester this summer with Saidy Janko signing from United and Dedryck Boyata joining from City.
