Dundee United have completed the signing of former Liverpool striker Florent Sinama Pongolle.
The 31-year-old had been on trial with United and could make his debut in the Ladbrokes Premiership match against Hamilton on Saturday.
Boss Mixu Paatelainen said: “Florent Sinama Pongolle has signed with us. We are just waiting for international clearance. If that comes today he will be in the squad.
“He brings experience, he brings tactical awareness, he brings quality in terms of his passing and positioning. He understands football well.”
Sinama Pongolle starred for France Under-21s, making 37 appearances for the team before going on to earn his only senior cap in 2008 in a 3–1 friendly win over Tunisia
The Frenchman is the second former English Premier League player to join United this week after Ivory Coast international Guy Demel agreed a contract until the end of the season following his release from West Ham United.
