Strathspey Thistle have signed Buckie Thistle forward James Fraser on a loan deal until the end of January and the youngster will make his debut for the Grantown Jags against Fraserburgh at Seafield Park this afternoon.
As one player arrives another Strathspey player could be set to depart as centre forward Adam MacLeod has been placed on the transfer list.
Strathspey manager Brian Grant said: “We are delighted James Fraser is joining us. He will bring us pace and directness up front and hopefully goals. He was at training last night and all he lacks is match fitness. He has great movement off the ball especially in and around the box, so he will give us a bit of penetration.”
Fraserburgh stopped the rot with a 3-3 home draw against Clach last week after four defeats in a row and traditionally the Broch always find it tough against Strathspey at Seafield Park. Centre half Ryan Christie and the Cowie brothers, full back Ryan and midfielder Dean, are injured but attacker Gary Harris returns.
Brora Rangers will be looking for three points against Nairn County at Dudgeon Park to keep them at the top of the table. Brora manager Grant Munro said: “We beat Nairn 4-0 at Station Park in the first game of the season but they have improved dramatically since then. They won 6-4 at Huntly and were unlucky to go down at Inverurie the week before so they are improving.”
Brora’s veteran defender Ross Tokely is working abroad, while the Wee County travel without injured pair, midfielder Calum Riddell, who has a shoulder problem, and centre half and captain Paul Macleod, who has an ankle knock.
Clach and second-placed Buckie Thistle meet at Grant Street Park. The Lilywhites have only lost twice in their last 15 matches, while the Jags will look to bounce back after Wednesday’s 3-2 defeat at Keith, where Maroons forward Luke Barbour scored a 94th-minute winner.
Lossiemouth and Rothes meet at Grant Park. Leading scorer Scott Miller, full back Jordan Main and captain Kevin Flett return for the Coasters.
