A turbulent week where Brora player-manager Grant Munro left the club ended with caretaker-manager Steven MacDonald getting exactly the result he was looking for.
Rothes were swept aside and MacDonald said: “It was a very solid, disciplined and professional performance, just what I was looking for after such a difficult week as I am close to Grant and it was disappointing for everyone to see him go.
“The players rose to the occasion. Brora have very high standards and we need to be up at the top of the league, it’s as simple as that. I told the players the standards had dropped a little bit and we needed to work harder and apply ourselves to get the results we want. We did that.
“The most important thing now is the players start to get back to the levels they can achieve.”
Brora opened the scoring through Zander Sutherland’s 20-yarder in the 13th minute, Craig Campbell made it 2-0 nine minutes later and within moments Ally MacDonald added another to kill the game.
Steven Ross made it 4-0 in the 57th minute before Paul Brindle got in on the act in the 70th minute and Campbell completed the scoring right minutes from time by grabbing his second of the afternoon.
