Nairn County have received a boost ahead of today’s home Highland League game against Strathspey Thistle after duo Glenn Main and Dylan Maclean signed contract extensions to keep them at Station Park.
Goalkeeper Maclean and midfielder Main have extended their deals until the summer of 2019.
County manager Ronnie Sharp said: “Glenn is vice-captain and one of the senior players in the squad. He’s only just reaching his prime as a centre half and is one of the players in the dressing-room who the younger lads look up to for the way he goes about his business.
“Dylan, 20, was thrown in at the deep end in the summer but he has handled it really well. We didn’t know what we were going to get with him then but , he has taken his chance and claimed the number one jersey.”
Strathspey Thistle will be without central defender Scott Hume, who is on holiday.
Wick Academy will look to build on Tuesday’s excellent 3-1 win at Inverurie Locos when an improving Fort William side head for Harmsworth Park.
Fort forward Sean Ellis has returned to Australia after his festive break in which he scored three goals in as many outings.
Keith manager Allan Hale may make changes to the side which went down 3-0 at Cove Rangers on January 2 for the Kynoch Park derby against Rothes, who welcome back midfield trio Kyle Gauld, Sean Jennings and Ryan Stuart, as well as Irish attacker David MacNamara. New signing, former Buckie Thistle central defender Iain MacRae, is unavailable.
