Cove “unlucky” to take all three points says Sheran

Cove Rangers manager John Sheran had no complaints about the result but felt his side was unlucky not to take all three points at Formartine.
Matthew McDonald’s goal gave the champions the lead but United equalised through Paul Lawson. Sheran believes the decision to award the free kick which led to Lawson’s equaliser was a poor one.
He said: “It was a good strike from Lawson. He is a quality player and if he gets an opportunity that close to goal with a free kick it is always going to be a big danger.
“We felt that when we went ahead that if we had held that lead for a little bit longer then maybe we could have kicked-on and won the game. Both teams gave everything and considering the number of players we had missing I’m really proud of the performance. Matty has worked really hard on his fitness since he joined and it was good to see him get the goal he deserved.”
