Turriff and Buckie served up an enthralling 90 minutes of Highland League action as they shared four goals in front of a large Haughs crowd.
After the game, Turriff manager Ross Jack confirmed he had signed Huntly’s Neale Davidson on a three-and-a-half year contract.
The defender was on the bench but was not called upon for this one.
Buckie forged ahead through John McLeod’s 37th goal of the season but Turriff hit back with goals from Nick Gray and Cammy Booth before Chris Angus headed an equaliser for the visitors with five minutes remaining.
Jack said: “We had five one-on-ones with Daniel Bell, the Buckie goalkeeper, which we didn’t take and to win games you have to take these chances.
“The sign of a good team is how they cope and Buckie showed why they are a good side by going for it and it paid off with a goal near the end.
“But we definitely did more than enough to win the game.
“No disrespect to the forwards we have at the club, but we need to start taking these openings as I’m saying the same thing week-in, week-out after games.”
Buckie manager Graeme Stewart said: “Turriff finished more than 15 points above us last season, which shows how we have improved. But we are disappointed not to have won the game.
“If we had won I don’t think that anyone would have complained but, having played on Wednesday, the heavy pitch caught up with us.
“The good thing was that we didn’t lose any ground on Brora and Cove and we have to keep on performing to a high standard as there are a lot of really hard games coming up.”
Buckie went ahead in the 28th minute when Angus fed McLeod who finished in style, finding the bottom corner from 18 yards.
Turriff levelled six minutes later when Nick Gray guided a 12-yard header beyond Daniel Bell after an excellent set-up from Cammy Booth.
Booth fired Turriff ahead in the 58th minute, rounding Bell after collecting a Robbie Allan through ball superbly on his chest before stroking it into an empty net from 10 yards.
But Buckie levelled five minutes from time when McLeod turned provider and Angus headed home from a couple of yards.
