Buckie Thistle manager Graeme Stewart is looking to get even with his former club Inverurie Locos when the sides meet at Victoria Park on Saturday.
Stewart, who enjoyed two spells in midfield for the Garioch club, said: “Since I took over as manager of Buckie, Locos have had the upper hand, winning three games against us while we’ve only won two – although one of those was a 6-0 win at Harlaw Park in the Scottish Cup last September.
“The Locos players raise their game when they play us and even more so now that Neil Cooper has been appointed their manager.
“I was coached by Neil when I was a youngster at Aberdeen and he’s sure to do well at Locos.”
The Victoria Park manager added: “The signing of Stuart Duff from Cove Rangers will also give them a lift, although I don’t really know how fit he is at the moment.
“Hopefully, he won’t be fit enough to face us this weekend.”
Although Buckie’s game at Huntly was postponed last Saturday, Strathspey Thistle’s unexpected 1-1 draw against champions Cove Rangers at Seafield Park at Grantown made Stewart’s day.
He said: “People say they’re not really interested in how other clubs are doing on a Saturday.
“But with our game at Christie Park going off, I was keeping up with everything that was happening in Cove’s game up at Strathspey Thistle.
“When Cove went 1-0 up in the first half I expected them to go on and win fairly comfortably, but I couldn’t believe it when Strathspey equalised and went on to hold out for a draw.
“We have two players on loan at Strathspey, James Fraser, younger brother of our captain Kevin, and Robert Scott.
“They were both delighted when the final whistle blew.”
