Turriff United manager Ross Jack is wary of Nairn County as his players get the chance to complete a quick victory double against Ronnie Sharp’s men this weekend.
Turriff beat Nairn 3-1 in the Breedon Highland League Cup last Saturday and the sides meet again at Station Park this Saturday in a league fixture.
Jack said: “We had a similar scenario with Nairn County last season, although it was a role reversal. That time we played them in the league first, a game we won with another of midfielder Robbie Allan’s speciality goals, just like last Saturday’s 25-yard opener, but the following week we lost out to County in the League Cup semi-final.
“No one likes back-to-back fixtures as it is tricky to win both games. This weekend I expect Nairn to add the three players who missed last Saturday’s cup tie through suspension.
“We can take confidence from the 3-1 win last weekend but we must be at our best if we are to beat them again.”
Jack was delighted that for the most part the Station Park pitch held up well last Saturday.
He added: “We got off to a great start last Saturday and put them under a lot of pressure. We expected them to be tired after their extra-time win at Deveronvale but this time around they will have had a rest and with fresh players coming in it will be a right challenge for ourselves.”
