Forres Mechanics secured three Highland League points, with centre back Graham Fraser the home hero with a well-taken hat-trick.
Mechanics manager Charlie Rowley said: “That’s Graham’s first hat-trick in the Highland League and he was playing at centre back today.
“First and foremost we are pleased to get the win and it’s good to see another of our central defenders get on the scoresheet as Stuart Soane has found the back of the net 23 times this term, most of them from the centre back position.
“It was three great headed finishes from Graham but the delivery has to be right and special mention must be made of Simon Allan, whose set-piece efforts were great. a
“Lossie made it very difficult for us in open play and they got it back to 2-2 but when the pressure was on we managed to raise our game.”
Forres goalkeeper Euan Storrier saved a Harry Noble penalty kick before the home side took a 14th-minute lead with a Fraser header and three minutes later Alan Pollock made it 2-0 from a Lee Fraser feed.
Lossie were back on level terms by the half-hour mark, firstly Martin Charlesworth headed home then Forres central defender Graeme Grant headed into his own net.
Just before half-time Forres were back in front when Fraser headed in a perfect delivery from dead-ball expert Allan.
Fraser then completed his hat-trick when he finished off another fine Allan set-piece.
