Goals from Andrew Greig and Kyle Macleod meant Brora Rangers kept up their title challenge.
After netting a goal in either half, Brora manager Ross Tokely was looking for more from his side, when he said: “I would have liked to have scored more goals. I’ve seen us play better and we’ve set better standards. Huntly never troubled us but I’ll take a 2-0 win and a clean sheet.
“I was delighted for Andrew Greig getting the first while Kyle Macleod scored a great header, he’s got some leap on him.”
The deadlock was broken midway through the half when the hosts gained possession in midfield and Greig drove forward to net with a low drive.
Huntly came close late on in the half when a dangerous long throw from David Donald was headed past the post by Ross Still but Greig turned provider in the 65th minute when his cross from the left was met by the unmarked Macleod who headed home at the far post.
Huntly failed to get a shot on target throughout the entire 90 minutes, much to the frustration of co-manager Tommy Wilson, who also felt the Brora goals were preventable.
Wilson said: “We defended well despite not creating too many chances, but we could do a bit better in possession.”
