Buckie Thistle have won their 11th Highland League title with a stunning 9-0 thrashing of Strathspey.
Chris Angus scored four, John McLeod finished with a hat-trick and Kevin Fraser and Stuart Taylor rounded of the scoring as the Jags solidified their incredible season.
It took just 10 minutes for Buckie to break the deadlock and by the time news of Cove’s lead against Lossie reached the ground, the Jags were already two ahead with no intention of looking back at the chasing pack.
A mere nine minutes later, Chris Angus had completed his hat-trick but the team showed no signs of slowing down.
In fact, with fifteen minutes of game time remaining and with a nine-goal lead, Buckie continued to send balls forward.
In the end, a 10th goal was not forthcoming but it will be of little concern to Graeme Stewart’s side. It was arguably the best performance from any team this season and one entirely fitting of the new Highland League champions.
