Buckie Thistle manager Graeme Stewart believes winning the title as a manager eclipsed his experience of lifting back-to-back titles with the Jags as a player.
Stewart said: “This is a lot more special, especially with the team of players we had when I was playing, we had one of the strongest squads in the league, and were one of the favourites to win the league.
“This season I think were weren’t meant to challenge at the top of the league, so that makes it a lot more special. It’s an unbelievable achievement – and the proudest moment in my life, so far.”
Reflecting on a difficult week with all the uncertainty of whether his side would be allowed to put the title to bed this weekend, Stewart added: “The players really were fired up after everything that has happened this week.
“I could see it in training this week, even though it wasn’t as aggressive as it usually is.
“I could see it in their eyes today, they wanted to put on a show and, even though it was 9-0, we could have scored a few more.
“I feel a bit sorry for Strathspey, who were struggling for a team.
“It’s not nice to see a team get beaten 9-0, but of course we’re delighted.”
Strathspey Thistle assistant manager Rab Simpson conceded Buckie clinched the title in some style.
Simpson said: “They are a good team and in John McLeod they have a quality player who can score goals at any time.
“We tried to hold on at 0-0 for as long as we could but we just didn’t seem to be a the races today, but I can’t take it away from Buckie, they are as good a team as I’ve seen in a long time.
“They have a lot of movement and we just couldn’t match that today and we struggled to keep up with them.”
Simpson questioned the commitment of some of his players who were missing, when he added: “We had three trialists. We have a first-team squad of 25 players but last night we were left with just eight to choose from.”
