Former Forres Mechanics, Deveronvale and Keith forward Kris Duncan is back at Rothes, the club where he started his Highland League career 13 years ago.
Dufftown-born Duncan, is happy to be back at Mackessack Park and said: “I made my Rothes debut when I was only 14 when I came off the bench in a Qualifying Cup match against Deveronvale at Princess Royal Park in August 2004.
“We lost 3-0 but I almost scored.
“My Highland League career has come full circle with my return to Mackessack Park seven years after I last played for them.
“It appears everything is now sorted off the park, now the challenge is to get things right on the pitch.
“I have signed a two-year contract and I feel I have quite a bit of football left in me.
“When I went back to Mackessack Park to speak with Rothes last Wednesday I saw quite a few familiar faces, that is good to see and it certainly doesn’t feel like six or seven seasons since I was with Rothes.”
Duncan, a compressor engineer, added: “It feels really good to be going back to my football roots.
“We have just signed Nairn County central defender Paul Macleod and I am led to believe another central defender could also be on his way to the club soon.
“Rothes manager Steven MacDonald is looking for experienced Highland League players in their late 20s to help the younger players and the way it is going I can see us having quite a good team next term.
“It is hard to believe this will be my 14th Highland League season and I’m hoping to play for as long a I can as I just love the game.”
