Young football fans are being given the chance to be mascots for the first match played at a new stadium.
Police officers and firefighters are gearing up for the Battle of the Badges match at Balmoral Stadium, the new home of Cove Rangers, on June 30.
The game will raise cash for The Archie Foundation, the official charity of the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.
It will be the first fixture at the new stadium – meaning the amateurs will enjoy the match-day experience before even Cove Rangers.
Each member of both teams teams will be paired with a mascot – all of whom are current or former patients at RACH.
And now the search is on to find the 30 mascots, who will get to escort their player on the pitch before enjoying the game, while wearing an exclusive Team Fire or Team Police T-shirt.
Claire Bush, head of events for The Archie Foundation, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for some of the current and past patients from the hospital to take part in a very unique event.
“It will be great to see the kids working with the brave local police officers and firefighters.”
Anyone interested in becoming a mascot needs to be a current or former patient of RACH or Dr Gray’s, aged between four and 16 and be free on the match day.
