The Highland League season will be extended after the SFA announced the play-off dates for League Two have been pushed back.
The semi-final between the Highland League champions and Lowland League winners was due to be played on April 21 and 28 but adverse weather conditions and Cove Rangers’ extended cup commitments meant there was a possibility the winners of the Highland League title may not be crowned by the original date.
As a result both leagues have been granted an extra week to find their champions with the first leg now due to be played on Saturday, April 28 with the second leg being held three days later on Tuesday, May 1.
The Highland League champions will have home advantage for the first leg.
Cove Rangers lead the Highland League on goal difference from Inverurie Locos while East Kilbride lead Spartans on goal difference in the Lowland League.
