Forres Mechanics midfielder Ross Macpherson savoured every second of his testimonial match against Ross County – despite his side losing the game 11-0.

Macpherson said: “Despite the score, I enjoyed every minute of my testimonial match with so many family and friends in attendance.

“There was a good support from both Forres and Ross County, which added to the atmosphere, and credit to Ross County and their manager Steven Ferguson for sending through such a strong squad for the game.”

The 2011-12 championship-winning captain added: “I am looking forward to my 11th season with Forres Mechanics.

“I’ve had memorable moments over the last 10 years.

“Captaining the side that won the league then being skipper in the Scottish Cup tie against Rangers are two highlights.

“When I came to the club we won the North of Scotland Cup and the League Cup before going on to win the title and then facing Rangers, all in my first three seasons, it was just fantastic.

“Since then I’ve dug deep and have managed to tie down a regular starting spot. I’m still trying to give the young boys the run-around.

“We have a great blend of youth and experience in the squad.

“We have a few boys coming through from the under-20s but we also have a lot of experienced players such as Simon Allan, Robbie Duncanson and myself.”
