An all-Highland League Scottish Cup tie is attracting attention online after footage of an apparent headbutt emerged.
Inverurie Locos are in the second round of the national competition after coming back from 2-0 down against Wick Academy to win 3-2 on Saturday.
But there is a huge question mark over their opening goal after a coming together between Locos defender Eric Watson and Wick’s David Allan.
Watson, a long-serving former captain of Cove Rangers who won six Highland League titles before leaving in the summer, appears to strike Allan with his head while play continues out wide.
Allan tumbles to the turf, play rumbles on and Chris Angus fires home the first goal of his hat-trick moments later.
Two more strikes from Angus dumped Wick out of the competition and set up a second round tie for Locos away to Rothes.
