Kyle Macleod is relishing a fresh start afkter making the move from Brora Rangers to Buckie Thistle.
The 24-year-old attacker came through the ranks at Ross County before enjoying a productive loan spell at Elgin City.
He moved to Brora on a free transfer from County in January 2017 but had found playing opportunities at Dudgeon Park limited in recent weeks.
He said: “I am delighted to get the move completed as it is something we have spoken about for a couple of weeks.
“I’m looking forward to getting back playing. It has been a frustrating period because I started the season really well and then I picked up a foot injury.
“I was out for a month which set me back.
“Brora signed Andrew Macrae from Forres and they had other options so when I got back I was struggling to get back in the team. That can happen in football.”
Macleod, who scored the winner for Brora in their 3-2 North Cup final victory against Caley Thistle last month, has signed a three-and-a-half year deal.
But he will have to wait until next weekend to make his first appearance for the Jags when they travel to Strathspey Thistle.
Buckie were due to host Inverurie Locos this afternoon but the game has been postponed due to Locos’ Scottish Cup involvement.
Macleod said: “Buckie have got a lot of good players who can create chances for a striker.
“It will be up to me to put them away.
“Graeme Stewart sold me on the move by telling about the big fanbase at Buckie and the fact they are a family-run club.
“I have really good feelings about the move and I’m looking forward to getting going.”
Buckie are sitting third in the Highland League table but have scored the fewest goals so far this season out of the top five and 11 fewer than leaders Brora after 14 games.
Manager Stewart said: “I spoke to Steven Mackay at Brora to find out if it would be a possibility because we noticed that Kyle hadn’t been starting games.
“We made an offer and they accepted it. We have been lacking a striker.
“We have just got Steven Ross back and he scored on Wednesday night against Deveronvale, which was brilliant.
“It was an area we wanted to strengthen so it is pleasing to bring Kyle in.”
