Turriff United manager Kris Hunter was pleased to see his young side end a losing streak that had gone to seven games with a 4-2 win at Strathspey Thistle.
Liam Taylor netted to put Strathspey in front before a Matt McDonald penalty restored parity.
Ross Naismith put the hosts back in front before Keir Smith and McDonald turned the game in Turriff’s favour.
Luke Kinsella was sent off for the visitors before Angus Grant notched Turriff’s fourth.
It was Turra’s third win of the season, which moved them above Lossiemouth and Strathspey and into 14th spot.
Hunter said: “I thought the players were excellent from start to finish.
“It was probably our best performance of the season. The players showed a lot of maturity.
“We were disappointed to be 1-0 down given the way we had knocked the ball about.
“I didn’t think we deserved that but we responded very well. I thought every one of them to a man was excellent.”
Hunter felt Kinsella was unfortunate to see red.
He added: “It was harsh.
“Luke was committed. It looked worse than it was but with five minutes of the game to go, I thought a yellow card would have been sufficient.
“When we went down to 10 men, we kept our shape very well and stayed composed. Our energy levels were pleasing.
“We managed to get another goal to finish the game off. It was a pleasing day.
“If we keep showing that level of performance then we will start climbing up the table.”
