Iain Foggo is keen to help out Fort William boss Calum Maclean wherever possible after making his return to the Lochaber club.
After not playing since 2018, Foggo returned to Fort for their 2-2 draw with Deveronvale after a late request by Maclean.
His shift work as an electrician may restrict his availability but Foggo is keen to make a playing comeback. He had left for Clach in the summer of 2018 but playing time was limited, with Foggo then taking a break from the game and finding an affinity for hill-running.
Foggo said: “When Calum came back, he text me asking if I could come back to training. I said I would but I wasn’t sure how many games I would make. He phoned on the Thursday last minute saying he had a couple of boys unavailable and asked if I could help out. I’ve got a lot of time for Calum. He’s a good guy who wants what’s best for the Fort.
“I would struggle to get time off work – I could maybe do every second Saturday. I got into hill-running and have a lot of races coming up, so I’m committed to that.
“I didn’t think I would be out for this long – it’s been quite hard to get back into it. But I really enjoyed getting back on the park.”
Prior to his departure, the Fort William native had given nearly a decade of service to the club and feels a sense of duty to help.
Foggo added: “I’ve got a lot of time for guys like Calum and Iain MacLellan, who I’ve known since primary school. They’ve got a new committee who are working really hard. Without those guys I don’t know if they would survive.”
