Fort William manager Calum MacLean insists his players will do all they can to offset their lack of home advantage against Deveronvale tomorrow.
The Lochaber side have played their last two home fixtures at their opponents’ ground following instruction from the Highland League given their backlog of fixtures, with tomorrow’s game in Banff and Wednesday’s trip to Brora Rangers having also been reversed.
MacLean says the situation has impacted on the numbers available to him, and he said: “I don’t agree with it. I know games have got to get played, but they are punishing us for something that is not our fault.
“It’s hard when our home games are away. Some boys had already changed their shifts for work, which left us a wee bit short.
“We took a couple of under-17 players with us to Forres on Wednesday. I wanted to give them a run out because I don’t like taking them away and not playing them.
“We will have a couple of guys back for this weekend, but we will miss a couple as well.
“If we play like we did at Forres, we will have a good chance at Deveronvale.
“We went there already and got a 2-2 draw, so I don’t see why not.
“The boys are down, but it’s our job to get their heads up and go again on Saturday.”
Fort will be without on-loan Caley Thistle defender Donald Morrison, who is suspended following his dismissal in Wednesday’s 2-1 defeat to Forres.
MacLean added: “The sending off had a massive impact on the game. I thought we were in control and playing some good stuff, but it was a silly sending off.
“You wonder what it would have been had we kept 11 men on the park, but I was really chuffed with the guys as they put a really good shift in.”
