Huntly manager Martin Skinner insists it is up to his players to bounce back from their drubbing against Fraserburgh.
The Black and Golds take on Strathspey Thistle at Christie Park tomorrow after being thrashed 7-0 by the Broch on Wednesday night.
Skinner has called on his charges to respond and said: “I think it’s up to them really, there’s nothing myself or Ricky Cheyne can say that will make them bounce back against Strathspey.
“What happened on Wednesday wasn’t good enough from everyone involved including myself.
“But they’ve got to turn it around if you want to be a decent footballer and a decent human being; you’ve got to react to certain situations and hopefully we do.
“We had players missing, but that’s not an excuse because we’re a collective unit, but we got what we deserved.
“We were missing Kai Ross, Nathan Meres, Declan Milne, Glenn Murison and then Ross Still pulls out with injury on the day of the game and it’s difficult.
“They are five players we’d like to start the game and as a result we were a totally different team to the one that drew 2-2 with them at Huntly.
“But the boys that came in should be able to cope with that but we couldn’t and they outplayed us in every department.”
One piece of good news for Huntly is the signing of goalkeeper Euan Storrier on a three-year contract from Forres Mechanics, after a loan spell at Christie Park.
The 21-year-old has been on loan at Christie Park for the last two seasons and Skinner added: “I’m delighted to finally get Euan signed up, Euan has played a lot of games for us in the last couple of seasons and you can see the talent is there at such a young age.
“He picked up two of the main awards last year and is very well liked within the squad so I can only see it as a massive positive for all involved.
“I’m looking forward to seeing Euan kick on.”
