Strathspey Thistle manager Gordon Nicolson believes more of his players can follow the same pathway to success as former Jags striker Scott Lisle.
Thistle sold Lisle to league rivals Formartine United last summer, after the 22-year-old had struck 18 goals for the Grantown outfit in the previous campaign.
Nicolson feels Lisle has proven that delivering the goods at Seafield Park can catch the eye of some of the leading clubs in the Highland League.
Nicolson said: “We always knew that point was going to come when Scott would move on, but I think we’ve got other players on a similar kind of pathway to what Scott has set down.
“I’m sure we will have this situation again with some of our players looking to move on to the teams at the top end of the league.
“That’s just something we will have to deal with. As long as we can keep that transition process going of bringing in guys and developing them.
“If we have to move them on, fine. As long as we can reap the benefits of them when they’re at the club, that helps our progress”.
Nicolson’s final recruit before the coronavirus shutdown was former Caley Thistle midfielder Kieran Chalmers, who joined Thistle in February after leaving the Championship club.
Nicolson has high hopes for Chalmers, adding: “He’s a player that’s got bags of potential.
“We’ve got other young lads that have come in, but it’s about us trying to pick up good young players that have maybe fallen out of favour at other clubs.”
