Strathspey Thistle have signed former Elgin City forward Adam Macleod on a 12-month contract.
The 21-year old Inverness-based attacker, who came off the bench and scored twice in 10 minutes in City’s 3-0 win at Montrose last March, was with the Seafield Park club three years ago before he joined Elgin.
Thistle manager Brian Grant said: “We have given young Adam a year-long contract, we had him here before when he was only 18 but he is definitely a more mature lad now. He didn’t want to stay with Elgin City as he wants to get a regular game of football, and he will definitely get that with ourselves. He is very quick and I’m sure we will get the best out of him.”
The Strathspey Thistle manager also has a new assistant when he added: “Rob Simpson will be joining me. He played in the Highland League as a midfielder for Rothes many years ago, as did his brother Willie, Rob was a very good player but he had a lot of trouble with knee injuries before he later went away from the area and joined the forces.
“He is raring to go for the new season.
“Our pre-season starts a week on Sunday, we need to work on our fitness so that is why we are making an earlier start than normal.”
