Huntly manager Gregg Carrol hopes the supporters will turn out in force at Christie Park today for midfielder Mark Gray’s testimonial against the Aberdeen under-20 side.
Carrol said: “I think that people tend to forget the commitment part-time players put into their career and there is no doubt Mark deserves a bumper testimonial for all his endeavour for Huntly over more than a decade.
“Hopefully after Thursday night’s fine win in Europe Aberdeen will give a runout to one or two of the lads who were on the bench against the Latvians.
“The game will be a good workout for us. Pre-season has gone well and it will be ideal to test ourselves against full-time Premier League players tomorrow afternoon.”
Meanwhile, local businessman Gordon Green has rejoined the Huntly board.
On his reappointment, the former Christie Park club vice-chairman said: “I have always kept a keen eye on what is going on.
“I am a Huntly supporter and it saddened me to see the club go through some difficult times a year or two back. However, I have sensed a renewed energy in the last 12 months and with Gregg Carrol now in charge I think there are exciting times ahead.”
Chairman George Clark said: “I have known Gordon for many years and it was always an objective of mine when I came here to get him back involved at the club in some shape or form.
“I am delighted that he has agreed to come back on to the board of directors.”
